Art of Foiling

We collaborate with talented artists to create unique designs

If foiling looks easy, that is because you haven't seen the 1000 crashes that came before. The inspiration for this design came from the Japanese proverb "Fall down seven, Stand up eight". That determination to keep trying; persevering even when we fail. This is particularly applicable to foiling which has such a steep learning curve.

As riders we are looking to achieve certain goals, like extending our time on foil, flagging the wing, pumping away from a dockstart or linking waves. But its the journey that really matters. Ultimately through the process of failing and trying again we develop the ability to persevere and to see each win as a positive step forward. This inevitably wires our brains to release dopamine during the process, not just for the win.

I wanted this design to incorporate the iconic Japanese wave so I sought an artist who specialises in Japanese art and I was fortunate to get to collaborate with Hari. For arts sake we took liberty with reality and allowed the waves to break from both sides, so that they frame the rider in a trough.

I think this proverb "fall down 7 stand up 8" is one that most foilers' can resonate with, since we are always pushing ourselves to improve and this requires falling many times but always getting back up one more time than we fall. This shirt is available in Red, White and Black.

Fall down 7, Stand up 8

One Life, Wing it!

This design was inspired by Wayne, one of the first foilers in North Devon and a local legend. Sadly Wayne passed away in 2026. I had wanted to create a wingfoil design and when Wayne left us suddenly it felt right to base it on him. Wayne was my inspiration when I was learning, always encouraging me. I would watch Wayne flagging his wing and carving along the bumps, telling myself I will be that good one day! If it was windy, Wayne was on the water, charging, and was one of the best foilers' out there and despite his age he had a cool composed style.

Wayne became a hero for many of the local foil crew with his positive attitude and warm welcoming smile, always supporting and encouraging developing riders. Sadly he is no longer with us.

Now, if it is windy and the conditions are good and for some reason I don't feel like going in, I ask myself, "If Wayne were given the chance to come back today and had the chance to go foiling what would he do?" Every time the answer is the same, "Wayne would go!" Wayne remains my inspiration to make sure I keep foiling and progressing.

One Life, Wing it!

I hope that through this design Wayne will continue to inspire people to keep getting on the water and push themselves to keep improving.

This design is available in white and stonewashed blue T- shirts.

Foil Addict Fag Packet

Inspiration for this design came from the seemingly addictive attitude of foilers! The hype around the release of new foils often means riders will change their gear every time a new foil is launched! Every few months there seems to be a new latest and greatest foil. Many of us have had huge quivers of foils, sucked in by the hype! Who doesn't like some fresh carbon?

This design is available in white & black.

Foil Addict - Acid Tab

This is a psychedelic design! The eye symbolises the eye of the beholder and in this eye you will see a smiley face made up of foils. It is based on the acid face of the 90S. It is a loud statement! I freaking love foiling and all I think about is foils and foiling! Its quite a trip!

This design is also available in white & black T-shirts. Also a more subtle black and white version is available.

Foil Addict - Ganja foils

This design speaks for itself and will appeal to people who are happy to make a statement about weed! It was a fun design to collaborate on, arranging foils and boards to create a leaf shape. The play on words here is clear, a majaurana leaf... flying high!

Available in Mocha & Khaki.
